There is no server to send anything to
CarFeeCalc is a static website. Every page is a fixed file, and every calculation runs in your browser using JavaScript that was already downloaded with the page. Purchase price, trade-in value, ZIP code, model year — none of it is transmitted anywhere, because there is no application server, no database and no API endpoint to transmit it to.
No cookies, no analytics, no advertising
This site sets no cookies. It runs no analytics — no Google Analytics, no tag manager, no pixel, no heatmap or session recording. It carries no advertising and no third-party embeds. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.
A practical consequence: page-view counts here come from search engine reporting and server logs, not from watching you.
What is stored in your own browser
Two things use your browser's local storage. Local storage stays on your device and is never sent to this site or to anyone else:
- Your theme choice — light or dark, so the site does not flash the wrong one on your next visit.
- Saved scenarios — if you save a what-if comparison on a state page, the inputs are kept locally so they are still there when you come back.
Clearing your browser's site data removes both. Nothing else is stored, and neither is used to identify or track you.
Hosting and server logs
The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes the technical information your browser sends in order to deliver the page and to protect against abuse — IP address, user agent, the URL requested, timestamps. That processing is Cloudflare's and is governed by their privacy policy; these logs are not used to build any profile of you, and are not combined with anything else.
Links to other sites
Fee citations link out to state agencies, revenue departments and statute texts. Those sites have their own privacy practices, over which this site has no control.
If you write to hello@carfeecalc.com, that message and your address are kept only for as long as it takes to deal with what you raised. They are not added to a mailing list — there is no mailing list — and are never sold or shared.
Children
This is a reference tool for vehicle costs, not directed at children, and it knowingly collects no personal information from anyone.
Your rights
Rules such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct and delete personal data held about you. In practice there is nothing held here to act on: no accounts, no profiles, no stored form input. If you believe otherwise, write to hello@carfeecalc.com and it will be dealt with.
Changes
If this ever changes — if analytics, advertising or any third-party script is ever added — this page will be updated before it goes live, and the change recorded in the changelog.
